He has been writing music his whole life but never pursued it professional until last year when his 7yr old asked him what he does for a living. Everything. Maxime Boublil was born in Paris, France, into a musical theater family. His father wrote Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, his mother was the first Cosette in Les Miserables in France. As a child, he played cello for eleven years but knew he never wanted to follow in his parents' footsteps. Maxime studied photography at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco and after a year realized that it wasn’t for him. He soon found what he was looking for when he walked into a friend's dorm room one day and picked up their guitar. Soon after, he switched his major to Music in Visual Media and started composing. Maxime eventually pursued a career as an engineer at "Furstock Studios" with three-time aria award-winning engineer Doug Brady, all the while writing his own songs on the side. The death of Maddie Finch, in the first hours of the new year 2018, shook the quaint suburb of La Harpe, Illinois in ways we can not adequately convey. When she was fatally shot inside of her home, the entire, Hancock County mourned. So strongly, in fact, that their grief stretched to the metropolis of Chicago, where an extraordinary emcee was moved to pay homage. That extraordinary emcee is Zip Dot; and that payment of honor is the video to his poignant, new opus— “Used To”.
This record braves such a command over introspection and heartbreaking emotion that few will be able to contest its overwhelmingness. A melancholic ripple of rhodes chords is peppered by the tap of kicks and rimshots; over which, this Baltimore-born, Naperville-repping rapper, floats with lyrical supremacy. With subjects ranging from thoughts of self-harm, to broken romances, and Zip’s untouchable faith in rap, “Used To” is a fantastically vulnerable record. It is the epitome of openheartedness, with a video whose tribute does it even more justice. Recently released music video, True Life
displays passion outside of music. Quis’s gives food to woman who displays
struggle. In conjunction with the video, the song opens with this very line, “I
was blessed with a gift passed down from my father”, which speaks high volumes
of power and testimony that both Quis and his Father shared before his passing.
The video helps laminate the passion and emotions in every word that is
delivered on this master piece of art.
Music like this, would be identified as timeless and
heartfelt. It’s an honor to have a talent such as Hartthrob Music very own Quis
Hart because his voice carries volumes of range and attention and will uplift
those who are grieving, lost, and emotional about losing a loved one and those
who are struggling with reality. This song pays homage to his loved ones that
are no longer here, as well encourages others to highlight the positives of
their very own loved ones who have passed on.
