A poignant piano progression, moved by melancholic chops, jump-starts Lil Buez “The Promise”. Although, a succession of trap drums does slam into the mix, “The Promise” maintains a tragic ambiance. This air is only fulfilled by the cold breeze of Lil Buez’s auto-tune. The Haitian-born, melodic rapper dives into the depths of his soul on this slow-burning anthem. It takes no more than two minutes and twenty seconds for Lil Buez to completely engulf us in the mistrust, betrayal and living hell of West Palm Beach, Florida. And he does so without breaking a sweat. In a similar vein to Kodak Black and the late XXXtentacion — both stars of The Sunshine State — Lil Buez is a natural at putting his pain on a page. Set a microphone in front of him, and you are bound to feel every word he lays. “The Promise” is a melodious introduction to three other singles Lil Buez plans to drop; as well as an album still in production. After this tranquil, impassioned anthem, we’ll all be waiting with bated breath for the Floridian talent’s next release.

Soaring on a melodic cloud of vocalism and versatility, is New Jersey upcomer, Rich Ab. Representing Sicklerville specifically, the artist shows not only is he a force to be reckon with in the studio, but that he has also been gifted with the ability to create something for everybody, through his latest album, “E.W.R.”.

“E.W.R” comes ten tracks in length; and by the end of a single listen, there shouldn’t be an audience in the world he hasn’t captivated. In the short span of 35 minutes, Rich Ab dives from his cloud of bars and melody, into nearly every urban genre imaginable. If you fiend for trap smashes, his intro “5 Freestyle” and third track, “Too Much” will throttle your speakers and turn up any function you find yourself in. Nostalgic about the early 2000s? His record, “Body” comes with an undeniable East Coast bounce, that would’ve set any club in the country on fire. In the mood for the softer, more melodic takes of modern hip-hop? “Nights Like This”, “White Girl”, “Ghost”, “Alive” and “Dance With Me” are soaking in autotune and emotion; perfect for those smooth, nighttime rides through your area. He even freaks a dancehall record through the stellar track “On It”, and a remix of Young Thug’s “Killed Before”, through the ninth track, “No Love Left”. All in all, this album is undisputed proof that, in being blessed with such well-rounded range and versatility, Rich Ab has all the makings of a superstar. The moment mainstream radio gets a hold of any one of these records, he will be unstoppable.

This track grabbed my soul and made me want to roam the NYC streets during those wee hours. It starts with a breakbeat that sounds titanic, although it’s straightforward at close range. Polo Paul’s latest track “A Boogie” is the sort of track you’d play to an alien in 2115 if you were tasked with explaining a young man’s street hustle attempts in Harlem; as they cope with 1980s drug scene building an illegal empire only to have a crisis of conscience. The primary strength in the beat lies in the tightly coiled groove and heavy bass tone.

The content is very deep as it is inspired by Ace Boogie from the hit film, “Paid in Full”. There’s no doubt that this artist has advanced lyrical skills portrayed by his infectious flow and unparalleled rhyming. Polo Paul must be potent in his lyrical prowess in his attempts to address the temptations and rigors of the ghetto in a quest for a meaningful life. The heavy hitters in the game will have to seriously reflect on the condition of the minority in NY, as portrayed by Polo in this track.
