Sometimes you instantly recognize a rarity, sometimes you confuse that rarity with another that you may have heard or seen before. Sidthatsit is a rarity. His music is straight out of house Kanye and Cudi built with a very Rap Noir(if thats not a thing it is now) sound. The Chicago kid gifts 2018 with his new Album bLACK eGG. The project consists of nine incredible tracks. It is a very impressive work of art from top to bottom. The content, production, and arrangement of this project are absolutely on point. bLACK eGG is full of tales of ambition, depression, drug experimentation, and heartache. It is a great fusion of uptempo head banging slappers and dark melodic ballads. Off of the top of my head this album gives me that Kanye West 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' or Travis Scott 'Before the Rodeo' feel. I see a dark(pun intended) career ahead for this future star. Afterall, Sidthatsit is a rarity. As rare as an bLACK eGG.

Music is a universal language. One that mythically transcends most national and societal boundaries normally unbroken on planet Earth. If you want a beautiful, polarizing example of this concept, look no further than award-winning, Cameroonian emcee, Vocaliz, and his eclectic 12-track opus, “Afrikan in New York”. “Afrikan in New York” is in all ways Vocaliz’s “break-out” album; his solo debut apart from Ghanian producer, Afana. It is an evolution on the artist’s signature sound: marrying African sonics with Urban inflections. The record kicks off with a title track that features rhythmic, tropical marimbas, backed by a scorching clap and thunderous 808s. One thing Vocaliz makes certain on this track is that his national pride will never die; setting the tone of African conceptuality and confidence for the rest of the album. This similar sentiment is echoed on a personal favorite, “Oh Na Na” a reggae-esque anthem whose main beat-break is a loop of organic, hip-hop drums. It is in these moments on the album where his Brooklyn basis shines. Tracks such as “At the Speed of Love” (another favorite), “May Be”, and “We Up” (another favorite) have a pristine, Golden Era hip-hop tonality to them; while the tracks succeeding them are much more modern and “trap” in expression.

As the only rapper on the entire album, Vocaliz phenomenally brings something new and refreshing to each and every beat he spits on. Whether its afrobeat, reggae, boom-bap or trap, this Cameroon-born, Brooklyn-based emcee attacks the music wholeheartedly; able to bend and maneuver his accent to suit and emphasize some already remarkable bars. When it comes to his sound, Vocaliz proves on this astounding debut that he has conquered it; and the universal language of music is yet another one he’s doubtlessly mastered. Vocaliz his recent shared his journey with TheDopeness interview series. Enjoy “Afrikan in New York” and join Vocaliz's growing movement today!

"Gotta hustle everyday, thats all I know—" rings like a mantra on the hook of Los Angeles rapper, RAJ WILL’s, latest, titanic single “Hustle”. This Chris Beach-produced banger has all the makings of an anthem: rhythmic flow, chantable chorus, quotable lyrics and a bouncy, trap beat. “Hustle” begins with a progression of hazy, atmospheric chords, fulfilled by a prancing, futuristic synth. These provide the melodic canvas for the beat; and soon after their introduction, a pattern of drums is splattered onto the portrait. The drums are upbeat and conventional; evidence that Beach is skilled at tailoring a simple, yet infectious vibe. What happens next is evidence WILL, our rapper, is skilled at everything else needed for a national, Hip-Hop hit. The West Coast spitter hits the beat running, dropping lyrical jewels in a flurry of conversational rhymes. "Quality over the quantity, and clarity over stupidity—" he raps smoothly within his first verse, showing just how little he cares about wordplay or metaphors.

What RAJ WILL cares most about is spitting with poise and sending a message. That message is to "Make a couple stacks, spend a bit / Make it right back, that’s without a doubt—". If ever you are feeling unmotivated, no matter your profession, throw on this two minute, Billboard-ready single and you are guaranteed to bounce right back to that “Hustle” you do so well.

You don't want any static with Warchyld and his new single "No Trouble" is a not-so friendly reminder. The philly emcee is veteran in this game who has been making waves for almost a decade and he has no signs of slowing down. "No Trouble" is a testament to his capability as a songwriter to make something that can satisfy a broad range of hip-hop audiences. Although the instrumental may be trap-inspired, Warchyld still brings a raw hip-hop essence from a lyrical perspective. Warchyld is a warrior and his documentary "The Price of Fame" does a great job of capturing that, as well as his music. Check out "No Trouble" below and watch "The Price Of Fame" for the full spectrum on Warchyld.

The new song "That's How I Roll (T.H.I.R)" by artist, Nuzician is a classic and much desired break that the music industry needs. The single has a new-age vibe and a dope summer bounce with a very similar tempo as other popular hits of today like Migos “Walk It Talk It”. Atlanta producer, Eva J's club-ready 808 bass line and trap-influenced percussions, makes the soundtrack definitely one to add to your party line up! It brings not only words and music but life to the hearts of listeners. Nuzician is an artist who has navigated his way through the music scene in a very big way, working in the same circles as many other popular musicians. “That's How I Roll”, details what this individual has to offer without making any exceptions of living life by other people's rules. Chilling and rolling with friends and creating your own unique memory is one of the basic themes of this song.

In addition, to celebrate the song Nuzician has launched the “T.H.I.R Challenge” where the winner will win $250 for a 1-minute remix of the song! The challenge rules are simple:

With each and every passing year, Canada proves itself as a force to be reckoned with. It has birthed some of the most prolific and talented mainstream artists, whose crossover has dominated American airways. Singer/rapper, Grand Fisher, is no exception to this paradigm; and with his debut EP, “Real Friends”, he proves just how poised he is to take every dancefloor on the continent by storm.

The production on this album is grandiose and electric; surging with techno-like basslines and vibrant, pop synths. Coupled with the groove of their pounding, syncopated percussion, even the slightest shuffle to these beats becomes eerily irresistible. Your hips will get away from you; and if you were not at a rave or nightclub already, this chromatic, EDM instrumentation will make you wish you had been. Instead of upstaging his production with brash, overbearing vocals, Fisher bounces beautifully between the foreground and background of the music. When the Ontario artist sings and harmonizes on tracks such as “Better As Friends”, “Boy Bye” and “Ghosted”, his voice, dripping with autotune, is pushed to the zenith of the mix; where it is most powerful and reviving. When he raps on those same tracks, his voice blends flawlessly into his production, and he himself becomes an extension of the very music he's flowing on. All in all, this project is a creative, club-ready debut; and if artists like Drake. Justin Bieber and The Weekend have opened the door for potential Canadian popstars, Grand Fisher will most certainly be stepping through.

Ever so often we hear of children searching and yearning for a father figure in their lives to show them what growing up is like from a man's perspective. Deson Teninchy with newage father's anthem “For Poppa” highlights the fact that though not always present, there are still great and amazing dads out there that will forever stand by their children. The song "For Poppa" details the heartfelt dedication of an artists who was privileged to have their fathers who gave them direction in life and career. It also goes out for those who have a special bond with their fathers. Though children always want to have their "own way" at times, he notes the true fathers always have their backs and help to guide them on the right track.

Finally, this single fills the void for fathers' day celebration or any celebration dedicated to fathers. “For Poppa” is a standout single from his upcoming album. Listen to his recent interview and download the song today!

Chi-town representative Jewleyouse Merances shows out for his city on his rendition of "This Is America" the viral sensation from Childish Gambino. "THIS IS CHICAGO" gives a little twist to the narrative and narrows the focus to Jewleyouse realities. Jewleyouse takes a more aggressive approach than Gambino, which is only fitting when considering the chaotic nature of his city. He also gets a feature from KS who brings that same energy as well. Although this is a great remix from Jewleyouse, he has plenty of original music on his Soundcloud and has a very diverse catalog that should not be ignored. Check out "THIS IS CHICAGO" below and look out for more from Jewleyouse coming soon.

Gryhme… Thee EP is exactly what is sounds like… Grime plus rhymes. Obi Khan brings the grimiest of vocals I’ve heard in a while… he sounds almost like a grime goblin. Yet the rhymes within that grimey voice are on point. Obi Khan delivers messages of true life struggles and deep personal topics with playful references that listeners can relate to. The production of most of the tracks from producer Thanos Beats who brings an old school bounce but with hard feel to match that grime style of Obi Khan. All around, Gryhme can be listened to casually just bumping tunes but should also be listened to closely to grab important jewels. Some of our favorite tracks to listen to were: Voices In My Head, The Circus, Check the Grhyme, The Life. Follow Obi Khan's growing movement and get the full project on Bandcamp today.
