JAY Z TAKES US BACK TO CHURCH WITH SIR THE BAPTIST PREMIERE OF "WAKE UP"

I guess there is church in the wild. Sir the Baptist, a Chicago-born recording artist, just premiered his latest artistic demonstration entitled "Wake Up" through Jay Z's entertainment streaming service - Tidal. Sir is an emerging pop/hip hop artist with gospel roots whose sound is reminiscent of "Jesus Walks" or a modern Reverend Run. He is currently highly coveted by some of the most prestigious record labels in the music industry. Universal Music Group states, "Amen! One of the chosen ones has arrived. Save music!"

"Wake Up" is an anti-violence anthem, coming from a Chicagoan who has marched in the streets for this cause, to bring people together and call for change. As we've seen, Chicagoans and artists alike have been blunt on their disapproval of Spike Lee's 'Chiraq'. Although there is outrage surrounding the comedic and sometimes sexist plot on such a sensitive subject, especially to those who have lost someone to the violence, Spike may be hitting a nerve in the city. However, a preachers kid from Louis Armstrong's neighborhood in Chicago decided to act by partnering with Jay Z's tidal streaming service to achieve awareness in a more serious, yet peaceful tone.

These "Wake Up" demonstrations weren't just another music video. They were a protest on Chicago's Magnificat Mile, a march in low income areas of the city and an event to take back the parks of Chicago by mentoring and feeding the youth in the city.

"Wake Up" was written by Sir many months ago, but happens to share the same title as Pope Francis's upcoming album. Similar to the Pope, Sir has ignited controversy surrounding issues in faith-based communities. Both revolutionaries believe in fighting for the poor, seek to change long-standing problems within their communities, cure injustices that have existed for far too long and build a culture around human dignity for a common good. Not since Reverend Run has the church culture been this embedded in mainstream music.

Catch Sir the Baptist live on December 23rd at Reggies Rock Club in Chicago as part of a Toy & Food Drive Charity Concert. He will also be hosting numerous anti-violence events, turkey donation drives, free concerts for Chicago Public School students and town hall meetings in the months ahead.

Cody Tyler Drops Visual for Hit "Pulp Fiction"

Cody Tyler just released the awaited visual for his hit single "Pulp Fiction". Take a look into Cody's life as he lets you into his world. Battling depression from an early age and spending some time in a rehabilitation institute, Cody is sick of the struggle and battle. He looks to express this when writing this record. Life is good and he wants to express this when listening to this song. Cody wrote the hook immediately after hearing the beat and wrote 6 verses following that (choosing the best two). He now follows up the audio release with the Au Glass Directed video. Using some top locations around the City of Angels, Cody and Au Glass bring the song to life.

Hailing from Florida, the now Los Angeles-based MC is currently prepping his upcoming project, but decided to drop the track for your (end of) Summer listening pleasure. Cody has a story that needs to be heard. And one that can help many other artists and people that listen to his music. You can catch Cody on a stage near you this Summer if you're in LA, including on November 15th at Dragonfly Hollywood.

42oh Is Coming "Just For Your Love"

42oH just packed up his car and drove across the country from Missouri to California to pursue his dreams. Now officially a California resident, he has recently teamed up with a powerful management/production team out of Los Angeles to take things next level. After releasing his latest release "Rewrite" just before making the move, 42oH marks his first official Cali release with "Just For Your Love".

"Just For Your Love" is a lyrical love story. While "Rewrite" discussed the problems with the Missouri music scene and reasons for 42oH's escape, he now brings 'Cali Love' as he hits the sun out West. Love is one of the most powerful forces in the world...and as long as things are open and honest, it can be one of the best things for people. As 42oH states, "I just want people to realize that even if they have a bad day at the office or personal turmoil, everyone can find love which can overpower all of that". Check out the song below and more coming from him very soon. Plus, catch him on November 15th at Dragonfly Hollywood in LA!!

"Hate Me"? That's OK by King$

Chicago-based MC King$ is bringing a fresh new sound to the Chicago music scene. As he describes, "the best way I can describe my style is a cross between Chicago Drill and 1980's punk rock. It's like if The Misfits had a baby with Chief Keef". The aggression in the songs is evident, but King$ is calculated at every turn. After recently inking a new management deal, he just released his first song in this new chapter - "Hate Me".

This is a song for the haters. As King$ states, "I wrote the song for anyone who has people in their life who are jealous of them and try to discourage them from achieving their goals. I got inspired to write it from having to deal with some individuals who have tried to put me down and make me believe I could never become successful. To me, it's an anthem for anyone who has someone jealous of them or 'haters'. The chorus means that I am trying to avoid negative energy from those who are doing nothing with their life and saying it's ok if they're jealous and don't like me because I'm trying to make something of myself". Take a listen to the anthem below and be sure to catch King$ live at a skate shop near you or on October 18th at Double Door alongside The Palmer Squares, Sir the Baptist, OnlyJame & more. Get your tickets HERE!!

OnlyJame & Toni Romiti Release New Single "Grow"

Chicagoland recording artist OnlyJame just dropped some new heat with his latest single "Grow" featuring digital superstar Toni Romiti. Jame had to come with something strong following his last single, and first song from his upcoming EP, "Major League" featuring Twista (LISTEN HERE)...and he definitely delivered. He teamed up with Visual SZN x Stokes Filmhouse x DADAcreative for the visual which you can see below.

Jame states, "the concept for the song is basically about being young and in love, cause right now in my life and in our generation it's hard to trust and find love. But I found it in someone without even speaking to them and I want to spark that young love to grow and mature into grown love". He is coming from the heart on this record and Romiti delivers a great verse to round out the song.

You can catch OnlyJame at his first headline concert in Chicago on Sunday October 18th at Double Door with Sir the Baptist, The Palmer Squares and more. Get your tickets HERE. Keep checking www.OnlyJameHQ.com for the latest!!

42oh Moves To California;
Drops New Single "Rewrite"

Missouri-based 42oh is taking his talents to California and has dropped a new single titled "Rewrite" to mark this major move. 42oh has recently teamed up with a powerful management/production team out of Chicago and Los Angeles to take things next level. And he's taking this to heart by getting out of Columbia, Missouri and heading West.

"Rewrite" is the story of a local artist in a dying music scene, where fans and other artists don't support each other. Everyone has to be number one rather than come together. So he is forced to move to chase his dream, while everyone else told him he should give up because he wasn't good enough. With faith in his talents and grind, he takes the leap into unknown lands to achieve greatness and achieve success. This story rings very real to 42oh right now. Check out the song below and more coming from him very soon. We appreciate your support!!

n a continuation of his ‘Focused Friday’ series, Chicago artist Landon Battles releases a new track titled “Brain Drain”. Much like his past follow friday releases, Landon draws you with industry beats, this time being Drake’s “How About Now” tune, to exercise his rhymes and flow. Battle’s rapid delivery serves as a healthy contrast versus the smooth Jodeci sample, allowing his lyrics to resonate and his bars to speak for themselves. Social Media: @LandonBattles

Urban hymnist Sir the Baptist, along with his #chuchpeople movement, just dropped the latest video for "(Cleflo) Almighty Dollar" featuring Twista, Jack Rvd, and Lili K. Fresh off the release of his highly successful debut single "Raise Hell", his second offering takes aim at prosperity gospel evangelists and their deceptive theology, making direct reference to the controversial pastor who rallied his followers to crowd-fund a $65 million private jet. The R&B/soul crooner (and occasional rapper) typically borrows from hip-hop and gospel traditions, but credits the African chants on Paul Simon's Graceland album as the original inspiration for his latest single.

Prosperity gospel and fraudulent evangelists are currently hot topics of discussion, most recently satirized by comedian John Oliver on HBO's Last Week Tonight. Even Oprah Winfrey's new scripted series Greenleaf will touch on the highly controversial themes surrounding megachurch communities. Now with "Creflo 'Almighty' Dollar", Sir offers his own poignant commentary on the matter.

"Cleflo 'Almighty' Dollar" serves as the second single for Sir's forthcoming debut full-length PK: PREACHER'S KID.

Raised by a pastor in Chicago’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood (aka Jazz Heaven), Sir was born a “church boy” and evolved into a spiritually-attuned rebel. His music is a game-changing fusion of the secular and sacred – with a message that’s refreshingly progressive, delightfully innovative, and sometimes unapologetically necessary for today’s cultural climate. In the same spirit Ray Charles brought gospel influence into the pop world with “I Got A Woman”, Madonna with “Like A Prayer”, and Kanye West with “Jesus Walks” -- Sir the Baptist takes the concept of "twisted faith" to a new level.

In conjunction with a show-stopping performance at The BET Experience, Sir's debut video single “Raise Hell” premiered with BET.com in June 2015, and has since been spotlighted by LA Weekly, Karen Civil, Bossip, Singersroom, and FakeShoreDrive. Earlier this summer, fans heard Sir the Baptist on Chance the Rapper and The Social Experiment’s SURF album, alongside King Louie and Quavo of Migos on the track “Familiar”. Sir has performed with the Joffrey Ballet and Travis Scott, and recorded with legends such as Frank Sinatra Jr. and composer/orchestrator Lee Musiker (Tony Bennett, Jerry Lewis).
